  • Soul growth opportunities abound

The Cardinal Grand Crosses which we’ve seen form and re-form all throughout the year are back this month. I can already hear the collective ‘ouch’ from most signs especially the Cardinal ones as these have certainly thrown up some challenges on a soul level for many of us. But it is through these that we discover just how capable we are so it is worth remembering that these are in fact portals for growth.

First however, the new Moon in expansive Sagittarius sets us all up for higher learning possibly through opportunity on the 3rd. Watch for news around this when Mercury enters Sag on the 5th. Mars enters Libra sign of partnerships from the 7th – a time to get things done with those close to you – and by that I don’t necessarily mean the Christmas shopping. If you are single and a Cardinal Sign (there are those words again!) chances are you will be taking some serious action to rectify the situation (more on this in a moment). However, watch for friction between you and loved ones if things have not been going too well. Chances are at which point the festive season could become one of fireworks instead.

The Moon in Pisces as part of the Grand Water Trine of the 9th seeks to put us in touch with the spiritual dimension of why we feel the way we feel and awaken empathy while the Geminids meteors may have us abuzz with ideas ahead of the New Year.

If you’re been feeling that life has been predictable of late I hope you have not become too complacent as Uranus planet of the unexpected and thrills turns direct in fiery Aries from the 17th – the same day as a full Moon occurs in Gemini. There’s a real ‘I didn’t expect to hear that’ flavour to this day. Now, as far as singles go (and I did say I would return to this), love may be found in unexpected places, with unusual people or be the result of a change of plans. Whatever you have been doing to find love – now do something different.

With Uranus now direct here comes the Grand Crosses and the one of the 18th sees the Moon in her own sign, Mars in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn. Watch for issues around your emotional security and others. The Sun enters Capricorn from the 21st marking the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer in the Southern. Depending on where you live the days now get longer or shorter. Venus moves to retrograde motion at a late degree in Capricorn – remember she rules love, creativity, fun, children (including your inner child) and your ability to attract abundance and enjoy yourself. So, during her retrograde period love affairs and creative projects may stall, break-ups could ensue and you may feel that life becomes some lacklustre. This is an excellent time however to delve deeply into your needs in relationships, working at something you are passionate about and what you really want to attract into your life. The planets are now all assembling in Capricorn and the Sun and Mercury are moving to conjunct Pluto and these three make for a potent mix in the next Cardinal Grand Cross on the 28th. This one sees Jupiter (also retrograde) in Cancer, Mars in Libra and that Uranus in Aries. Expect upheavals and transformations whose time has come to shake foundations – both actual and in beliefs.

We reach New Year’s Eve with five planets in Capricorn asking us what we want to establish for 2014. That’s the question now – establishment. Things that we have taken for granted may be swept away to allow us to build something better for ourselves. Think of being the creator of your own life and create something lasting that takes you into 2014 and beyond.
