April promises to be one of the most complex and soul-challenging months of 2014. We are under the influence of Cardinal Grand Crosses once again and these contain retrograde planets so there will be a strange feeling of déjà vu for many of us as we are confronted with events and situations that perhaps should have been dealt with differently in the past, rising up to challenge us again. The Sun is exactly conjunct Uranus in Aries and with Jupiter in Cancer, Mats (retrograde in Libra) and Pluto in Capricorn will trigger the first of these from the 2nd to the 9th. Remember, the Sun in a particular house in your chart activates and highlights that area so we can say this provides you with ‘illumination’. Sudden events should show us all where energy needs to be directed.

The 2nd also sees Mercury in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer. What empathic or spiritual action needs to be taken? Venus brings a message of spiritual love when she enters Pisces on the 5th and this brings the stellium in there back to four planets. However, Mercury enters go-to-it Aries on the 7th while Aries ruling planet Mars will oppose the Sun in Aries from Libra sign of balance and partnerships on the 8th.  Think of this as a ‘balancing act’ – acting with balance and not with haste as direct Mars can have us doing. Ahead of the major Cardinal Grand Cross of the month which is a double, Venus meets Neptune in Pisces on the 11th. Neptune at his best is a higher vibration of Venus and this meeting stirs inspiration for creative projects, universal truth, insight, inner guidance, intuition, empathy and compassion – or should do. The negative side of the meeting is a disconnection from reality and taking refuge in addiction when do not want to see what it is front of us or take the action we should.

The Double Cardinal Grand Cross has the Sun, Mercury and Uranus conjunct in Aries and we see Pluto turn retrograde in Capricorn very close to this. Note that both retrograde planets – Mars and Pluto, rule Scorpio sign of transformation. Mars its in Libra where a total Lunar eclipse takes place the following day while the Grand Water Trine of the 17th sees the Moon conjunct (retrograde) Saturn in Scorpio while Saturn of course rules Capricorn where Pluto has just turned retrograde, providing a possible trigger for events that are unearthed, uncovered or create upheaval or even have explosive ‘Plutonic’ qualities to them. However, there’s a feeling about all this that we have been warned on some level this was happening and what we are now confronted with is the inevitable result.

Money and values fall into focus next as does how we value our environment and the arts vs. more material concerns when the Sun enters Taurus on the 20th and Mercury follows suit on the 23rd. These two meet on the 26th and on the 29th we have the second eclipse of the month – this time a solar eclipse. There is a tense aspect forming between the Sun, Mercury and the Moon now all conjunct in here and giving us a three planet stellium and retrograde Pluto and Saturn. What lies beneath will come to the surface whether we like it or not – and that includes the truth about lies.

If there is a message for all of us this month it is this: think before you act, act with integrity and whatever you do – don’t put off until tomorrow what you know needs to be done today no matter how inconvenient, confronting or painful it may be. We all need to be fearless when it comes to what needs to change. If it didn’t stretch us – it wouldn’t be true soul growth.
