  • Dare to be open
  • What do we give away to feel ‘safe’?
  • Happy solstice to all!

Daring to be vulnerable is a theme this month and we need to understand that’s okay. There is a danger we can all become over-protective and there’s a fine line between being protective and being defensive and events may call upon us to work through the difference. Venus in Scorpio could bring intensity and passion to the fore, but also trigger fears around love. All of us may be looking at the paradox that very often the thing we want the most is also the thing we fear the most as well – often without us realising this is happening! Mercury enters the sign of the establishment and foundation – Capricorn on the 10th and will meet Pluto in here ahead of some pretty intense aspects which will impact us all.

The new Moon in Sagittarius on the 11th marks the beginning of the new cycle for Sagittarians regardless of when in Sag their birthday falls. For the rest of us however, as the winter and the aspects close in for the Solstice and the Sun’s entry into Capricorn on the 22nd, this all takes place against a backdrop of two entirely different ideas or ways of thinking. The new Moon in Sag urges us to expand our horizons where other aspects are putting pressure on us to withdraw and batten down the hatches. As one international media outlet summed these transits up – albeit unwittingly: “We in Europe are hopelessly caught up in a vortex of two polarities – democracy or stability” But these themes may well extend beyond Europe and even into our personal lives as a perfectly timed Pentagram appears in the sky on the 24th again asking us to confront our insecurities. The 25th sees a full Moon in her ruling sign of Cancer – opposing of course planets in Capricorn and this promises either the nurturing or protective we grave vs. feelings of ‘It’s a big bad world out there, stay close and stay safe’. Peace on Earth and goodwill to all? That’s our challenge.

Uranus direct in Cardinal sign Aries occurs the same day as a Cardinal Grand Cross forms – again putting emphasis on personal security vs. personal freedom. We have seen these themes emerge again and again these past 18 months but now they may feel particularly intense.

A relaxation of this tension may occur as Venus enters Sagittarius on the 30th asking us to look towards 2016 with an open-hearted desire to learn and achieve that balance between these conflicting ideals. Start within and the world you inhabit may continue to expand long into 2016.
