Sex, death, taxes, money. What’s taboo for you around any of these subjects? These are all Scorpio and 8th house issues.
Last month we saw Mercury head retrograde in here. Its retroactive cycle has taken it back into Libra where it heads direct again on the 3rd. Yes, US election day. Recounts and power issues may feature, even when it re-enters to Scorpio on the 10th. Then we have Mars which is Scorpio’s ancient ruling planet which has been making an ultra-rare retrograde in its ruling sign of Aries. This too heads forward once more from the 14th handing us all back our confidence and impulsion.
Back to those Scorpio/8th house issues. Funnily enough most people would rather talk about sex than money. Are we more likely to have money hang-ups than the other kind? Most likely. The corporate world has gone out of its way over decades to discourage employees from discussing their salary. Thus getting away with pay inequality based on gender and racial discrimination. This is where not talking about money can land you. Out of pocket. And as the 8th house rules power money and ‘Plutocrats’ – lining theirs in the process.
The smart money will also have noted that the US elections are taking place just prior to Mercury heading direct again. Recounts, disputes, accusations and uncertainty may follow. Mercury rules messages and the good old postal service. So, the postal vote will be playing a huge role one way or another.
Solutions? There could be a big one on its way thanks to the final meeting between Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn on November 7. Astrology teaches us a lot about history. And we all know history repeats itself unless we learn from it. Capricorn is the sign of the mountain goat. A symbol of the ‘view from the top’. Now, there is nothing wrong with that. It’s how you got there or having got there, how you used your power and influence that counts.
The truth is in there
Back to what is taboo or hidden. And yes, sex, death, taxes, money. So many of these themes have been linked to Donald Trump. Again, that word ‘Plutocrat’ – derived from Pluto. Pluto’s rulership of the 8th, combined with Mercury retroshadow in Scorpio and Mars being in retrograde still, means those themes will be back again. In astro-mythology, Jupiter sent his brother Pluto down to the underworld when Pluto abused his power and got too big for his boots. We could literally see this play out now with those ‘taboo’ subjects behind it all.
On a lighter note, for all of us, this final Jupiter/Pluto meeting could offer an incredible solution or opportunity that sends us up, up, up and away and releases us from a long-term cycle or issue. Watch for new beginnings at the time of the new Supermoon in Scorpio on the 15th – the third new Supermoon we’ve had in a row. It sextiles both Jupiter and Pluto. It’s promising a major re-boot around power, resources and what we share. And this includes those at the top of the mountain sharing more.
The 21st sees Venus arrive in Scorpio and the Sun enter Sagittarius. Venus rules our bank accounts as well as our love life. In here it can hand us access to greater resources. But also have us looking at whether we love money for its own sake – as opposed to what it can bring us. Note I did not say ‘Buy’. Venus wants to give us access to the vault. It’s how we use those resources – financial and otherwise, that counts.
Sagittarians can look forward to an easing of the restrictions that have had them so confined in 2021. Ideas and especially the internet will be your playground, Sag. With Mercury now direct and heading your way, time to explore these. And if someone tells you that you can’t, won’t or that what you want is impossible, show them just how wrong they can be as the Sun in your sign trines Chiron on the 27th.
We’re back in eclipse season this month too. Eclipses conceal. But this month is all about letting us know that no topic should be ‘off limits’. The 30th brings us a lunar eclipse in Gemini. This is Mercury’s ruling sign of ideas, talks, discussions, news, the internet. With Mercury now direct we can expect revelations and sharing. On a personal level, be candid and upfront. Especially around topics you may have shied away from in the past. Collectively, we may see secrets tumble out of closets with more to come. The truth brings us solutions – as well as setting us free this November.
In a nutshell:
Mercury and Mars move forward this month. Opportunities and solutions release us into something bigger. While the Sun in Sagittarius points the way towards a fresh sense of freedom!
