This week’s new Moon in quicksilver Gemini appears just days before Gemini’s ruling planet Mercury heads direct once more in Taurus. It’s not a green light yet as such for those ideas – more like a flickering amber one until Mercury clears its retroshadow on the 18th.
Words matter now. Words are the spells we weave. So under this new Moon look at the words you use and how you use them. Geminis love to talk up a storm. But are you using 10 words when two will do? This Gemini Moon can plant the seeds of so many ideas we can become confused as to which one to focus on. We then scatter our energy and dissipate the potential. Ending up with no results at all instead of magic from our ‘spelling’.
This is where that Mercury retrograde can work for us. Because instead of uncertainty or trying to go off in several directions at once, we can ground our ideas and look to how to apply them. Or weed out the ones that may not have long term potential. What we say can get infused with love and a deeper layer of the potential effect our words have on others.
Thoughts originate in our minds which are ever curious and need feeding with fresh ideas and perspectives. But we are not our thoughts, ideas or beliefs. This new Moon asks we open our minds to the ideas of others without feeling threatened or challenged by different points of view. That we listen without the need to become defensive and respond back without the desire to convince the other party we are in fact right. Saturn retrograde in Aquarius this week asks we adopt a more universal mindset and honour everyone’s right to their opinions.
Publishing, writing, speaking, the internet, local transport, your neighbourhood and siblings and cousins may also feature now. As could your own ‘twin’ within. Is there one side of you telling you to ‘go for it’ and another who holds you back? Which one do you trust or listen to the most? This new Moon says strike up a new conversation within yourself – a positive, open, enquiring mindset eager to learn. Which idea to focus on and what to do with it will then effortlessly emerge.
In a nutshell: The new Moon in Gemini is here to remind us that every idea and conversation we have contains the potential for change. This includes that inner-self talk. If you want to change your world – change the conversation.
