Solar eclipses occur at new Moons. Lunar eclipses with full Moons. Of course, not every new or full Moon triggers an eclipse. Solar eclipses occur twice a year. And are linked to the signs where the Nodes are. So, while the North Node has been in Aries, and the South in Libra, we have experienced solar eclipses at the time of the new Moon in these signs.

New Moons always usher in fresh new beginnings. But under an eclipse we are dealing with two powerful energy dynamics. The potential for new beginnings is increased. But that potential is hidden or covered up. This can result in false starts, delays or making the wrong decision if we rush. Remember – eclipses conceal. And that includes the best option or choice on offer.

Here’s a simple astro hack that you can apply to any regular new Moon—and even one that delivers an eclipse. Whatever you start or begin under will come to completion or yield results at the full Moon in the same sign in six months’ time. Yes, astound your friends with your ability to nail that timing! And plant your seeds accordingly.

Usually we begin to see the immediate results of what we’ve begun under the new Moon two weeks later. That is at the time of the next full Moon. However, with a solar eclipse new Moon, the following full Moon is usually what finally dispels those eclipse shadows. So, you may be waiting two weeks for your fresh start or new direction to become abundantly clear. This is one more reason why astrologers tell you to take things slowly under an eclipse.

This new moon and eclipse is all about where we need to bring in the balance. It’s a new beginning with an adjustment. It can see us move goal posts, priorities and boundaries. We may shed something to make room for something else. It asks us to look at how we are relating to a specific relationship, person or area of life. And adjust to bring in harmony. ARIES

Do check your own chart for factors within one degree of the eclipse orb – which is 10 degrees of Libra, Aries. Do you feel something is missing? Or is that a someone? But what seems like the magic of the moment can have long-term implications you may not be aware of at the time.

You know the rules better than anyone. Steer clear of seeking new love. Curb your indulgences. Don’t book a holiday. Plan for most eventualities if you are taking one. Pay close attention to lovers and children. They may need something from you they are not asking for. Make time for creative plan. Nurture and refine your projects and plans. CANCER

The eclipse is in fellow Cardinal sign of Libra and your 4^th of what truly matters to you. Home, security, sustenance, who or what gives you shelter, family, path and belonging. Your place and your people. Your roots and traditions. Whether these are what have been handed to you, you were born into or which have been self-created.

With any eclipse, you should look at the themes that a series of eclipses across the eclipse axis continue to trigger. This is especially important for you as your ruler the Moon is always involved. Eclipse cycles are dictated by the Nodes and an eclipse cycle takes roughly two years to complete. So, to look at what this particular eclipse may be covering up – all you need do is look back at the eclipses over the past 18 months or so. Or if you are old enough – jump back 9 years. Because the same themes will play out. Or something which has yet to be dealt with and come up repeatedly during the eclipse cycle, now offers you a fresh take on it. And the opportunity to deal with it for good.

I’ve already started to talk about how next January, the Nodes move from Aries/Libra – your 10th/4th, to Pisces/Virgo – your 9th/3rd. Between now and the final eclipse on this axis next year, you’ll be given the opportunity to move, establish or discover where is right for you. And the people you share this with. Forget how the Cancerians next door are wooed and romanced. Yes, food is always the way to win their gentle beating hearts. Your turn on now is words, images, ideas. But don’t be in a hurry to take anything beyond the flirting stage under the solar eclipse in your 3^rd. Anytime your ruler the Sun gets covered up is when your own brilliance gets dialled down. So, what I’m saying here is that by all means allow your imagination to be captured. But do keep in mind that this may not offer anything beyond that. Or if it does, you need to take time to discover exactly if the promise can be met.

This eclipse can also have your doubting the validity of your own ideas and questioning whether they are actually that good. Doubting the evidence or forgetting that usually the best ideas don’t require over-working. Their very simplicity is what makes them great. My advice is simply to stop tinkering and temporarily shelve them. Unless you have a looming deadline, that is. Even if that’s the case – if you can at least put them aside for a few hours on the actual day of the eclipse. After it has passed, you’ll see them with fresh eyes.

It’s a bit like Tony Stark telling you you are now part of The Avengers. Once you realise which one it is, it’s superpower activation, Virgo! Especially when it comes to the difference it can make across so many areas of your life for you.

We can hear but not listen. We can see but miss the details. We can touch things not just physically but feel the energy they radiate. And smell and taste can evoke pleasure and trigger important connections and memories. That’s your main five. And these connect us to the sensual delights of the world and others in it. This eclipse asks:  can you do this better? In a more elevated way? And in doing so – hand yourself something that’s missing.  Then there’s your sixth sense – your spooky self which knows stuff without needing facts or questions. How can you use this to make your way in the world and improve your relationship with it. And everyone else.

It’s a romping, revved-up new beginning—and then it’s not. That’s the problem with a solar eclipse in our first. We start something, or it looks promising. Then, it vanishes, or a hidden element is revealed that snags and snafus us.

This is why astrologers tell you to defer fresh starts or initiate something new under one. And if an opportunity appears of its own accord – to carefully examine it and take it slowly. Hold off on doing or launching things. You may want to reconfirm all those party guests or that venue as well. ‘Just in case’ is a mantra rather than ‘Happy birthday to me’.

Don’t think you are missing out. Remember that Jupiter is in its ruling 9th, gifting you with the biggest opportunity cycle you’ve experienced in 12 years. Yes, this is the start of a major attraction cycle. Even if it’s a slow one. Watch for what (or who) comes slowly into focus in the next two weeks. It’s significant. If things are less than tickety with your boo, it is time to face it rather than carry on in denial. Do what you can to fix it but if you can’t – be prepared to call it quits.

As far as that frenemy or pain in the *** is concerned, you may find that the universe somehow conspires to move them away from your orbit and you don’t need do anything. You might want to check your chart if you are uncertain.

So, something may be on offer – that promotion, order, new job. And you may be prepared for lift-off. But then the countdown stops just prior to launch. And you may have a two week waiting period until it is finalised. Understand that there may be nothing you can do to move things along if so.
