Your Full Moon in Cancer Moonscope January 13th 2025

Full Moons are full stops. The Sun opposes the Moon. Bringing something to a pivot point. A conclusion, release or realisation or peak experience. In Cancer – sign of home, homecomings, security, safety and nurturing, it asks for us to stop in place. No matter where in the world we happen to be. To breathe and attend to our needs. And to look at what we need to ask for, get or create to come home to our truth.

This Moon is known as the ‘Wolf Moon’. Hear it howl or huff and puff at your door. Five hours after it waxes full, it meets retrograde Mars. Mars is associated with wolves. Swirling tides of feeling antsy, uneasy, vulnerable or emotionally displaced usually stem from us denying our own needs. Or being ashamed of being seen as ‘needy’. But when they go unanswered, needy and demanding is how we come across. The very thing we were trying to avoid! Courage to be upfront (Mars), about the love, help, support and understanding we need is the pivotal point of gentle power this full Moon offers us.

No matter where we find ourselves under this full Moon – this brings us a homecoming to our truth. This full Moon asks us to pause and engage in reflection. Especially when it comes to self-protection. And those we feel protective towards. The idea of family, home and yes, homeland. But we also need clarity as to whether we’re being protective or defensive. We may feel threatened but in fact – there is no real threat. Good defences and boundaries are necessary. But if we’re always on the defence, we can end up with nothing worth defending. We’re all used up by keeping those barriers up! Taking them down means taking a risk on being vulnerable. It’s well worth it.

ARIES

Even the warrior of the zodiac needs to drop their sword once in a while, Aries. Now, that doesn’t meant if you need to grab it, it’s not ready to use. But this Moon brings out your sensitive side. And has you asking whether that in fact might be your secret weapon after all?

You’re sentimental and a little marshmallow now. Try a little tenderness instead of that in-your-face, full frontal approach, Aries. Give in to your desire for emotional closeness. You only achieve that if you are willing to show your softer side. And brave enough to discard any emotional armour.

The full Moon not only heightens your own needs, but opens you up so you intuitively pick up on what others need from you in return. Step into the loving space of what’s unspoken. By giving without having been asked, you’ll open up a two way process where you get what you want in return. You’ll seek out those people who feel like home to you. Whether you’re related to them or not. Decisions around where you want to be and what protects you without the need to be on constant guard, can be made. Take down those barriers, Aries. TAURUS

We know you dislike change, Taurus. Your universe is a happy place when things stay the same. Your laid back exterior relies on stability to function. The bonds that you know are reliable and lasting with others. Trust is huge with you. Then there’s just the comfort in the predictable. Your special mug, the barista who knows exactly how you like your coffee without you having to ask, your signature pizza order. No matter those flaky signs which see these as boring and mundane, for you they are lodestones in your life. Shining jewels to hold on to when the outside world is going crazy.

Step up into self-worth under the full Moon in your 2^nd. It may throw up a challenge and test you when it comes to what you will or won’t compromise on. It can also have you examining your values and how others reflect these. Mars in the mix hands you the confidence to show your true worth however. This is a ‘The buck stops here’ Moon where you will no longer buy into anything that devalues you.

You will protect what’s precious to you in terms of assets, possessions, talents and your love. You’re not about to waste these on the unworthy. Under this full Moon you will look at not just your needs – but what you don’t or no longer need. You’ll take a less-is-more approach to what you own for instance. You may declutter or shed things. And if you are contemplating buying something, it’s quality you’ll go for. You opt for the lasting as opposed to fast fashion for instance.

Spending time with a loved one? You’re sharing the warmth of your soul like a fire on a cold winter’s night. You want and give comforting hugs and touches rather than sexy time. The way to your heart right now will be gorgeous, indulgent food. If someone offers you a taste of theirs – you’re smitten. This Moon is about looking at permanence and what you can rely on. So, that income stream and also those connections you can ‘bank’ on. Make these all your gold standard, Gemini. And do steer clear of impulse buying. Yes, you may in that moment believe you have to have it. But it will quickly lose its allure. If it doesn’t hand you lasting value – you don’t need it.

CANCER

Radiant being – you are now in your power. This full Moon/Mars mix sees you wanting to follow through with pro-active emotional action. You can’t just sit around feeling those feels. The follow-through is everything. You drop self-protection and pretence. Your bravery extends to baring your truth. Plus there’s nothing you’re not prepared to do in order to show how much you care for those you love.

Your nurturing soul is on fire. Do extend this to yourself, Cancer. Especially if your first, fearless impulse is always to jump in and defend those you love. But when it comes to others crossing that fine line, you let things slide. This full Moon asks you to ensure you see yourself as worthy of your own care and protection. Tired you is cranky you under this full Moon. If you are over-extended or have taken on too much, you’ll know it. You may suddenly hit a wall and all the motivation and desire in the world won’t give you the impulsion to continue. Your body may respond with sudden flare ups or even whatever lurgy is doing the rounds. If you don’t voluntarily down-shift, your physical being may simply step in and make you rest.

Others may become inexplicably teary and feel put-upon. This full Moon isn’t a good one under which to self-soothe with food, drink or whatever you would normally reach for. Mars in the mix wants you to stop, rest and sit with your feels. And come to understand those triggers. And then find more effective ways to regulate when you know what those triggers are.

This is one of the best full Moons under which to undertake a healing ritual, seek out health or spiritual care professionals and also, release any baggage. You will also discover old creative ventures get re-infused with fresh inspiration.

This full Moon can also throw into the spotlight something you know – but have been ignoring. Mars won’t allow that denial to continue. So, pay attention to that sixth sense. Especially if it highlights a person or situation where you have been giving unconditionally. Or else making excuses over for far too long. Maybe your desire was to show love and compassion. Or simply not to ‘rock the boat’ in your relationship. But that feeling of being drained is telling you this now has to stop. Harmony often comes through us highlighting issues, setting boundaries even with those we adore, and also insisting that we rest. And that this is sacred time and not up for negotiation.
