Uranus is associated with the colour electric blue. The colour of the room David Bowie wrote about in his 1977 album Sound + Vision. Sound and vision is ruled by Gemini – the sign of communication, commerce, getting around and ideas. Uranus rules innovation, invention and technology. So, yes electricity. If you look at the glyph for Uranus, it looks like it has an old fashioned TV antenna on the top of it. That was Uranus in the analogue age. Now we have Uranus in the digital age. The age of streaming, CGI, AI, deep fakes and social media. Moving into the sign which rules sending things out there. And our ideas. So take it as it sits right now in blue room Gemini from July 7, that we’ve not seen anything yet.
Revolutionary ideas, wake-up calls, shocks to the system and what we think we know being over-turned are all signatures of Uranus at work. As will be incredible leaps forward with our use of technology. And the way we communicate. Expect a radical change to take hold across the entire social media landscape. It will look very different by the time Uranus departs which is in 2033. And yes, ideas catch fire. Spread and electrify people. For those of us working in communication, commerce, marketing, advertising, as influencers, content creators, writers, teachers, we will have a whole new set of tools at our disposal. Just keep in mind the same ones are available to those with less than good intentions. And that we may see society and the law struggling to keep pace. Entering the electric blue room requires us to stay savvy and street smart.
In the Tarot, Uranus is linked to the card of The Tower. The bolt from the blue which shakes us out of what we imagined was solid and unassailable. It’s always a wake-up call however – not as disaster. One of the best depictions of the Uranus effect I’ve seen in the Tarot is the card of The Hanged Man in The Heartscape Tarot. Which shows the world turned upside down due to the hanged figures new point of view. Look to Uranus in Gemini for upending your perspective. And radical ideas which result in you seeing things very differently. And what’s more – being able to put these to amazing uses when combined with the innovations heading our way!
Last but by no means least – happy birthday to all the Leos out there. Uranus occupies its ruling house in your chart. This is about group efforts, friends, crews, bands, movements and communities. Coming together to make things happen. All for one and one for all. Your goals, wishes and dreams and your future are all intertwined
You and everyone else, has the luxury of waiting for the gift of sound and vision – or your next big idea, thanks to Mercury retrograde in Leo from the 18th. And a Leo new Moon points to planning a relaunch on the 24th as it opposes Pluto in Aquarius – Uranus’ ruling sign.
Venus moves fast through Gemini and enters Cancer on the 31st. Lucky dates for 2025? They’re not over yet. Along with Uranus, there’s more surprises ahead in August!
In a nutshell: The gift of sound and vision isn’t just for birthday sign Leo this week. But for all signs as Uranus moves into Gemini – sign of communication. It’s a gift we may have to wait for however. As Mercury, ruler of both Gemini and Virgo, turns retrograde in Leo this month. But take it what’s coming is worth the wait!
