Planets in Aquarius continue to challenge collective norms as they square Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, which powers forward in Taurus this week (Feb 4). The waning full Moon in Leo of Feb 1, opposes Venus – ruler of Taurus, on the 2^nd. Which can result in sudden shifts or even shocks around what we value. Especially if we have over-invested in or over-valued these. If clinging on to stability and the status quo, has resulted in a lack of growth for us, we may be asked to relinquish these.

The old order is in the process of being swept away with a new one emerging. This will become more apparent as the month continues. The cosmic curriculum tests us on how adaptable and open we are to embracing a new paradigm. Curious and alert to the opportunities it offers? Ready to release what has become stale and stuck in the past? Or hanging on for dear life out of ego or the sunk cost fallacy?

Mercury in Aquarius can hand us one voice. Or see us aligning ours with those literally singing from the same hymn sheet. Just before moving on into Pisces, it squares Uranus challenging any ‘That’s Just the Way It Is’ thinking. Shattering old beliefs and replacing them with totally new and radical ways of being in the world. Especially when individual and collective values align.

Venus, Taurus’ ruling planet, makes the same angle to Uranus on the 8^th. It challenges traditional values or even systems. This could well result in volatility across the financial markets. But on a personal level we may be individually drawn towards unconventional, edgy and electrifying people, groups, ideas and experiences. Even as we redefine what ‘security’ looks like.

Last but by no means least, Mercury in Pisces strengthens intuition, allows us to put our deepest feelings into words, and acts as a clarifying agent for our ideas and the direction we want to go in. It dispels fuzzy thinking. Turns that soul compass back on, and turns up the volume on those inner whispers. It also acts as the antidote to rigid thinking. We become more open and permeable to new ways of looking at the world and embracing fresh ideas which are rooted in compassion, empathy and understanding.

No denial, no delusion. Despite this, Mercury in Pisces casts a magical spell. An enchantment or incantation that charms and leaves us with eyes wide open at the possibilities it conjures. It awakens our inner visionary. Has us viewing the world and others through a lens of compassion and empathy. Especially when we use it to free ourselves of thinking that some things are never going to change. Rooted in fact, but powered by open source imagination. There’s no better mindset under which to meet the dawn of a new era.

In a nutshell: When we change our mind – we change the world. Simply by looking at it and reacting differently. Imagination fuses with facts to hand us a new vision for living and what we value this week.
